What a tricky track...
Not one single jump, so no flying cars, so was it boring?
On the contrary !

Ow glorius mud!
The first international GP of 2008 was won by the Cleon driver Ken Walckiers.
On second place ended Mikael Laurent and third was Pascal Cocquempot.
But it was a strange race as after the semi finals the race was cancelled due to too much water on the track. So the ranking after the semi finals was the final ranking.

The Cleons performed very well.
Besides the 1st place there was made a 4th (Andreas Kamp) and 5th (Vita Padevet) place as well. With 3 Cleons in the top 5 this was a very good result and a nice start of the international racing season.

4-in-a-row-!
Close, very close, but again a win for the Elcon team!
Ken Walckiers did it again and took his 3rd big international victory in 2007.
Tim vander Elst made a superb 3rd place putting a second Cleon on the podium.
Kay Koops came unbelievable close but had to settle for 2nd spot.

To complete the succes the 3rd place was taken by another Cleon, Team driver Curt Sonneville made it to the podium as well.
Cherry on the pie: pole position by Ken Walckiers with his Cleon.

Ken you believe it...
3 words: trackrecord - FTD - victory.
This sums it all up for our benjamin. Though he was a class of his own the other guys performed outstanding as well.
1st - 2nd - 6th & 8th place were taken in the UK.

Friday some good set-up was searched for the challenging track at the Notts & Derby Raceway. Soon the guys showed fast times on the chronometer.

The 5 year lustrum of the powercup promised to be a big event.
It was big, huge, a cracker, hot and above all fun.
Ken and Tim were sharp & focussed. Both used their head in the final resulting in an excellent 1st and 2nd place.
Some impression (25MB WARNING!) of the event can be found HERE.

The best track we saw ever, period!
CAMSE is the name of this club and they are situated close to Lyon at the Saint Exupery airport.
66 drivers came down to this place to battle for the first off-road GP of the year 2007.
Though the journey was long, it proved to be worth every minute.

Saturday business as usual. Ken, Curt, Johnny and Andreas qualified all rather easy for the half finals.

The first international race in 2007 is a fact.
In Exloo the W.E.S. Cup was held and the maximum allowed 100 competitors came to this great venue.
Top drivers were present and so was the Elcon team with 4 drivers.

Powercup 2006.. what an action… what a weather…what an event!
Each year again the organization pulls off an even better and bigger event than the previous edition, they did it again!
A brand new track in which the hand of skilled drivers can be seen. Fast straights, jumps on critical places and a technical part in the middle, it comprises everything and many say already the best track in Belgium.
