A "brake" through for RC model cars is finally here: the Air Brake.
This new technique applied in rc car models has many advantages over conventional excisting brake systems.
Messing around with cable systems that got stuck due to dirt is a matter of the past.
Waisting time adjusting cables to equal length to each brake, the Air Brake puts an end to this.
Unwanted air bubbles in your brake liquid, it's over. No need anymore to bleed your tubes, no more buying braking fluid.
But most important: Brake function is NOT affected by sand, dust, water or any kind of dirt!

A self locking or failing brake system is a matter of the past.
The complete brake is closed by a cover plate, this prevents any unwanted locking or sticking of the brakes.
Due to this closed system the brake also requires minimum (almost zero) maintanance.
Brake force is equally divided towards each brake.
Last but not least the brake fore can be very well dosed. As air can be compressed the exact point for braking before entering the corner can be very well determined.

The Air Brake is delivered including the needed uprights and all needed hardwear for mounting the brakes.

With this air brake for the Hormann front you need to re-use your wheel shafts and wheel bearings from your original upright, these are not included in the package.

Universal shock absorber. These shockers are the same size as standard FG shockers for the front but they are NOT leaking !
Travel of this universal shocker is enlarged by 10% in the same length !

A special teflon coating is used on the shocker housing for low friction and to reduce wear to a minimum.
The rounded shaped piston with a precise fit provides a minimum contact surface for even less friction & wear.

The piston rod is hardened and presicely grinded and will not corrode.
The special seal at the bottom provides a fully closed shocker even in harse dusty conditions.
But not only does it close the shocker.
It is selected also as the "stick-slip" resistance is significant lower as other currently used seals.
The dampening proces is therefor more true; and not influenced by high friction like o-rings cause.
A low friction piston together with low friction seal ensures an optimal dampening proces.

As there is no leakage of oil, there can also not come any air into the oil medium.
The shock absorber therefor does not get soft or feels like a sponge, but remains stabil as set at the start.
Also after half an hour of non-stop driving.
The spring disc allows maximum travel as the dirt scraper fits in the disc at full compression.

60ml of very thin silicon oil.

All shock absorbers of Elcon use just 1 type of silicon oil which is very thin.
The complete concept behind using only 1 single type of thin oil is as simple as effective.

Oil warms up during driving.
A thick oil would under influence of the rising temperature go down in viscosity. The damper setting changes noticeable.
An oil that is already thin from the start will change far less under influence of heath in viscosity.

The silicon oil we have chosen is this "thin" so you won't experience any noticeable change in the car set-up after running through a complete tank of fuel.
The car feels the same throughout the complete run.

We advise to use this type of silicon oil in all Elcon shock absorbers.
To change the damping can be done by changing the inner piston of the shock absorber. It is not only more effective it is also cost saving.

The wheel axle is made from Stainless Steel, is reinforced and precision grinded.
Thus: no corrosion, improved mechanical characteristics and it fits like a glove.

A special nut with a ripped flange will lock the wheel. The small bolt with the flange on the backside will hold the axle in place.

The brake discs are cutted from stainless steel plate material so they are resistant against corrosion.
The parts are delivered as a set of 2 pieces.

The shocker quick mount is easy to put on and makes quick removal of the shocker possible. Delivered as a pair. Made from stainless steel the part is protected against corrosion.
Bolts and special clips are included.
The clips can be mounted and taken off easy as 1,2,3 by hand!
