September 2010

With the season well in the second half we give you the last update on the bigger events that have been run.

GPNL2010

Podium GP NL 2010

GP of Holland 2010.
Dario takes home the largest trophy to Croatia with just 6 seconds ahead of Elcon driver Kay Koops in 2nd. Nick Visser completes the podium in 3rd.
It was a hard and fierce battle between 4 cars and the winner could have been as well Alexander Schmitt who also battled along till the last 3 minutes.
But in the final hectic minutes of the race the podium settled.
With Kay fighting back from fourth and closing in on Dario in the last few laps. The time ticked away just to fast for Kay to catch him again.
It was a superb result to see 5 Cleons in the main final. Even better is to know these were mostly privateers which proves it is not just the team drivers getting excellent results.
Well done to Erik Wadners, Alex Mulder, Stevo Backland and Marc van Delft!

Results August 2010

As the season continues more results are rollin' in.
Here an update on the latest results on racing tracks around the world.

Aus2

Callan Gunn makes 2 in a row!
After last weeks domination in Brisbane, 4 laps in front of second place - the Elcon Models – Monster Energy – Ride 4 – Cleon MMX was ready to tackle racing in Sydney on the weekend.
The Elcon Models – Monster Energy – Ride 4 - Cleon MMX dominated the Sydney final with a full lap over second place.

Elcon Spain

A double podium at the Spanish interclub races.
Alex finishes just 2 seconds in front of Carles Cort. Within 20 seconds from these 2 Jaume Alos makes the podium with the 2nd Cleon MMX!
No sólo en un Jacuzzi los milagros suceden ;)

In the UK Stevo puts his Cleon in the top 3 at the British Nationals!

Kay Koops

Kay wins round 4 of the Dutch Nationals.
Being 2 laps ahead Kay takes home a well deserved win on the last weekend of August in pouring rain. Congratulations also to Bert his father and mechanic.
Well done guys!

Ken

After 2007, 2008, 2009 it is now 4 in a row for us as a team.
The Powercup 2010 was won by Ken Walckiers, amazing achievement!
An awsome drive by Ken earned him FTD, fastest qualification and the victory in the main final. Also the oval racing on the special track was taken by Ken.
Well done M8!

Luka

Luka Cuden brings home his first victory with the Cleon MMX.
Well done Luka!

Callan Gunn

Callan Gunn wins big time Down Under.
In Brisbane the Cleon MMX of Callan drives in a 4 laps differance on number 2.
Congratulations Callan.

Stevo

Stevo dominates the Pageant of Power meeting which is combined in the National series for the British championships.
A huge motorsports event, where the organisers and BRCA made a good effort for further promotion of the hobby.
Stevo took a well deserved win on this bumpy and temporary track and is heating up for more action in 2010.

European Championship 2010

EC2010
Pilots & Mechanics EC 2010

When the shit hits the fan, you better duck down.
After leading the complete final till the 28th minute, Ken his car stopped right in front of the rostrum.
Patrick who was driving on 3rd postion also stopped within 2 seconds.
It was not meant to be to get a deserved win or even a car on the podium.

But it was the complete top 5 that encountered all weird issues and so the victory of the first European championship went suprisingly to Great Britain won by Ian Oddie.

Ola Sapas3 !

Moncia
Moncia

A great weekend of racing action at the Manlleu track.
The 24th and 25th of April round 2 of the Spanish championship found ground in Catalunya. A good turnout of about 40 drivers came and the race was very well prepared and organised by the Manlleu rc club.
It was the first time the Cleon MMX tasted clay ground and soon we saw smiling faces of Jaume and Alex after the shakedown of their car.

Round 1 championship Catalunya - again Bravo

Catalunya_1
Double podium !

21st of March.
The spring officially started but there was more wonderfull news on this special day.

Incredible!
This is what Jaume Alos reported from Spain. His team took a double podium!
Alex Bravo is getting used to the Cleon and dominated everything.
Qualifying, pole in the final and again victory!
Xavi came 2nd and also was very strong: winning his semi-finals and making the 2nd spot in the main final is also a very good result.
But Alex was this time a class of his own.
Alex, we say again: Bravo !

Spanish nationals R1 - 2010

esp_1

Podium R1 Spain 2010

Round 1 of the Spanish nationals is run.
Alex Bravo finished second in the first official race!
So again a Spanish succes with a podium finish.

But the best was not only the position of Alex, Xavi took pole position in
the final, and Jordi was the fastest driver in qualifying.
The three entered the final, but bad luck was on the side of Jordi (11th) and Xavi (5th).
But with the podium of Alex we can only say: "Bravo" !

See ya the 24th & 25th of April at Manlleu ;)

Powercup 2009

podium_powercup2009

Podium Powercup 2009

On a mission for a double podium!
After a back-to-back victory for Elcon in 2007 and 2008, one of the most prestigious races was waiting for us again. Well prepared the Elcon team appeared on the crime scene and after a few swift laps in the main final victory at the Powercup was secured.
This is the 3rd in a row victory, hurray guys !

Ken wrote history winning the 2009 edition using a Evo tuned engine, he is the first pilot winning this race twice.
Also his new track record is fixed for eternity as sadly enough BPT has to move its track elsewhere.

Austrian GP 2009 - Do you dare to jump ?

podium_fehring

Podium GP Austria 2009

Only a few did dare to jump, many failed.
Once again prove has been delivered that setting the fastest times and running a dominant race is not a guarantee for the highest spot on the podium.
Petr Hartman showed stunning air time taking the big double in one go, round after round after round.
He set the fastest qualification and was dominant on every part of the track.
Jupiter decided however it was not ment to be...

French GP - 2009, Tim(e) for a change

bm2009_1

Tim accelerates through the dirt
Tim takes confident win !

Someone whispered "they are hungry again for a good result".
Tim showed his appetite at the French GP and ate them all !!
The progress, new energy and re-newed pleasure over the past weeks paid off.
France was the place where Tim's plan came together. A truly deserved and confident win was achieved.
Petr Hartman, just finished next to the podium and came 4th.
The set-up of Tim can be downloaded HERE

Start of 2009

The just started season 2009 is still young.
Already some truly lovely reports came from the UK.
Steve Backland aka "Stevo" won the winterseries in a very convincing way.
But winter is over and let's move on to the just started outdoor season.
Some new results you find below.

Petr2
Petr Hartman wins 1st national
Petr3
Petr wins 2nd national also!
Petr4
Honza, Petr & Mirek

Czech Republic - Petr Hartman is the name and yes "Hartis" can drive...
Petr, congratulations on winning your 1st and 2nd round of the national championship!
This is for sure a good step forward, but some more races will follow and the season is long.
Other Cleon pilots were also very succesfull, though not so many Cleons attended the races. With just 4 Cleons competing out of 35 competitors, 3 made the main final and 2 were among the first 5. In this strong field of competitors, it can be seen as a truly good achievement of not only just Petr, but also the other Cleon pilots!

IC2009_1
Ken wins, Tim 2nd - 1st national
IC2009_2
Jean-Pierre 1st,
Wesley 2nd, Diego 3rd
IC2009_3
Interclub 2009 België

Belgium - Relax and take it easy.
A go with the flow and well run meeting by Fred Deblesser at the MTCG track.
The 1st national there was in the end rather easy won by Ken followed on a well deserved 2nd place by Tim.

But not only we saw a win + double podium finish at the pro-section.
At the rookies section we were impressed by the driving of Jean-Pierre Gaydene who took a very dominant win.
Diddier Bossier faced carb missery and could have won, he showed some impressive time laps as well. Diego Lernout came on a nice 3rd spot.
All of these guys showed they could run along easy at the pro's as well.
So in both classes a win + a double podium finish - congrats to you all !
